Hamilton Blvd Extension Blasting to Resume June 14  - June 13, 2008
Improved safety measures are now in place to prevent flying rock during blasting.  The technical report on the May 6 blasting incident in Lobird and area includes the new safety recommendations.


How Active are Yukon Children? - June 13, 2008
Results of the first two years of a study begun in 2005 show that Yukon children are more active than the national average, but that there is room for improvement.  In response, Canadian ministers of sport, physical activity and recreation have set physical activity targets for children and youth for the first time ever.  The report recommends ways to help children be more physically active and the news release notes measures Yukon government is taking to facilitate life long fitness. Yukon Regulations for Psychiatric Nurses and Medical Laboratory Technologists - June 12, 2008
Yukon government intends to introduce regulations governing standards of practice, ethics, and education requirements for Psychiatric Nurses and Medical Laboratory Technologists so that Yukon can recruit and retain qualified health care professionals and ensure that Yukoners receive the highest standard of health care.

The public consultation phase is completed and results are being compiled.  The consultation documents for Yukon Psychiatric Nurses [140KB ] and for Medical Laboratory Technologists [217KB ] provide information on proposed regulations.


Animal Protection Act  - May 26, 2008
